Aim of the assignment

Help me get to know you and let’s get creative sketching visualizations!

Instructions

Do either A or B below then C.

A. Using Pre-Made Tent Cards (Provided In Class)

  1. Take a pre-made tent card and remove the strips along the long edge by folding one way then the other along the provided crease.
  2. Then fold it in half along the center crease.

B. Using Card Stock (Outside of Class)

  1. Take a piece of 8.5x11” card stock and fold it three times evenly distributed across the shorter dimension. These are indicated by the dashed lines in the image below.

  2. Then use scissors to cut two slits half way from the long edge to the nearest fold, shown with solid lines in the image above.
  3. Then fold it and insert the two slits into each other to form a triangular prism:

C. Draw Your Name and Visualization

  1. Once you’re sure the table tent works, unfold the paper.
  2. On one side of one of the two main faces, and with the proper orientation (see image above):
    1. Write your first name in large text.
    2. Write your last name in smaller text.
  3. Then, beside your name draw a simple visualization that holds some meaning for you. It should encode some data, not just be an illustration or picture.
